Welcome!

First Legal Limited was established by Kirsten Ferguson in 2020 .

Kirsten holds First Class Law and English Honours degrees and has been practicing law for over 25 years. Kirsten has worked in both government and in various-sized private law firms, including as a Partner.

First Legal® focuses on delivering expert legal services in a way that is not daunting, not overly-complicated and not going to break the bank!

We are available to meet in person or online between 9 and 5 on weekdays. Our Peer Partners can also meet with us during weekends if required.

We are "mobile lawyers" and will visit you (Wellington/Porirua/Hutt Valley) when in-person meetings or document execution is necessary.

OUR SERVICES

BUSINESS

We provide the legal services required by a New Zealand business.

You choose how we best approach delivering those services to you either at the traditional hourly rate or as part of our Peer Partnering programme.

PERSONAL LEGAL SERVICES

Wills - including Wills-on-Wheels ®;
Enduring Powers of Attorney - Personal and Property;
Family Trusts;
Documenting property-sharing arrangements, "pre-nups" (Relationship Property Agreements) and dissolution arrangements.

DESIGN \ CONSTRUCTION

Designers, Architects and those operating across the trades who are involved in either residential or commercial construction projects are subject to the Construction Contracts Act 2002.

NOT-FOR-PROFITS \ CHARITIES

A Not-For-Profit organisation is an incorporated or unincorporated legal entity organised and operated primarily for a collective or social benefit, as opposed to an entity that operates as a business aiming to generate a profit for its owners.

DEBT RECOVERY

We can help you recover debt in two ways:

We can put you in your best possible position to recover your debts and costs ahead of invoicing; and

We can also enforce debts on your behalf, post invoicing.
